April 8, 2026- The Kishwaukee Kougars faced off against Black Hawk College on Tuesday in Moline, falling in game one before bouncing back with a strong showing in game two but in the end lost by one run. In game one, Black Hawk gained momentum early on the way to a 9-1 final score in the Kish loss. Kaelyn Williams took the loss in the circle for Kishwaukee, pitching five and two-thirds innings. She allowed nine runs, eight earned, nine hits while striking out four and walking three. Offensively, Paezleigh Hudgin led the Kougars with one RBI, as Lilli Delhotal, Hudgin, Brooke Jackson, and Sami Simms each recorded a hit in the effort.
Game two saw a much stronger showing from the Kougars, as they battled but ultimately fell just short in a 7-6 contest, but also highlighted by a standout performance from Avery Boehne. The Kougs rallied in the top of the sixth inning, erupting for six runs on four hits to take a 6-5 lead. The highlight of the inning came when Boehne launched a grand slam to right field, driving in four runs and giving Kishwaukee the advantage. Boehne also started in the circle, pitching six innings while allowing six runs (four earned) on 10 hits, with two strikeouts and one walk.
Kishwaukee 16-13 overall, will look to rebound as they travel to Sauk Valley Community College for their next matchup on Thursday in Dixon.
