Baseball wraps up regular season in Rockford

May 3, 2026 - The Kishwaukee College Baseball team completed the regular season at Rockford University JV on Sunday. Kish would fall 4-3 in game one. Rockford College got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after a single to center field,  followed by a sacrifice fly, plus a Kougars error, each scoring one run. Jakob DeLeo singled down the right field line, which helped the Kougs tie the game at three in the top of the seventh, however, it wasnt quite enough. Russell Butitta started the game for Kish surrendering eight hits and three runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out eight and walking four.  Adam Marshall went one-third of an inning, surrendering one run (zero earned) on zero hits, striking out one and walking one.  Sawyer Larson led the Kougars with two runs batted in while Jonathan Hartline, Larson, and DeLeo each collected two hits for Kish.

In game two, the Kougars fell 6-4 despite out-hitting them nine to four. Seth Nielson and Caleb Barth each collected two hits for Kishwaukee.  The Kougars fell behind by six runs in the third inning, but then tried to fight back. The Kougs closed the gap by scoring on a single, a double, and an error by Rockford after RU got on the board in the bottom of the first inning then adding to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning.  Kyle Vojack opened the game for Kishwaukee giving up four hits and six runs (four earned) over three innings, striking out none and walking three.  Kishwaukee tallied nine hits in the game as Juan Rodriguez led Kish with two runs batted in.
