May 1, 2026 - The Kishwaukee College Baseball team travelled to Cicero on Friday afternoon for a NJCAA Region 4 doubleheader. The Kougars would fall twice by the scores of 13-10 and 12-7. In game one, Kish got on the board in the second inning after Jakob DeLeo singled, scoring two runs. The Kougs Spring added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Sawyer Larson doubled to center field, Morton committed an error, and Nate Kolder walked, each scoring one run. However, Morton would eventually rally for the victory despite trailing 7-1 in the fourth. The Panthers bottom of the fourth, had them scoring eight runs on seven hits to take the lead, 9-7. The biggest blow in the inning was a home run to left field on the sixth pitch of the at-bat that drove in three. John Schulte took the loss for Kishwaukee as the starter went three innings, giving up nine runs on 10 hits, striking out one and walking two. Josh Uebele gabe up two hits and two earned runs in relief. The Kougars amassed 11 hits in the game as DeLeo led with three runs batted in while Larson (4 runs scored) and DeLeo each collected three hits for Kish. Nico Mainolfi had two hits and Grant Bruen stole three bases while teammates Jack Okun, Nathan Kolder and Jonathan Hartline drove in a run each.
Game two saw the Kougars up again 4-3 after their half of the second inning. A five run spot in the Morton third and a four run spot in the Morton fifth sealed the 12-7 win for the Panthers. Nico Mainolfi had four hits and four RBI to lead the Kougars attack. Nathan Kolder (2) and Caleb Barth had the other RBI for Kish. Jonathan Hartline (2), Kolder, DeLeo, Larson and Okun scored the other Kishwaukee runs. Jacob Dzado in three innings of work allowed 7 earned runs walked four and struck out two in his stint on the mound for Kish while Juan Rodriguez pitched three innings and gave up 2 earned runs walking three and striking out one in relief.
Kish will travel on Sunday to play Rockford University JV to finish the regular season.
