April 20, 2026 - The Kish Baseball team travelled to Rockford Monday to make-up a previously postponed doubleheader versus Rock Valley College at Rivets Stadium. A late inning rally in the final two innings came up a few runs short in game one as Kish lost 12-9. Nico Mainolfi collected four hits including a solo home run to left field in the fifth inning, a double in the second and sixth innings. Despite the loss, Kishwaukee collected 13 hits in the high-scoring affair. The Kougars made the score 7-4 in the top of the fifth inning when Mainolfi hit the solo home run to left field, and Jakob DeLeo doubled, scoring two runs. Rock Valley responded with five runs on two hits in the bottom of the fifth inning. Patrick Jasinski took the loss for Kish as he went three innings, allowing six runs (two earned) on six hits, striking out three and walking two. Adam Marshall and Kyle Vojack had 0 earned runs in relief. Sean Wasserman, Brock Metzger, and Nick Price each collected multiple hits for the Kougs.
In game two, the Kish bats were strong, but it wasn't enough as they fell 19-8. Jakob DeLeo drove in four runners in the loss. the Kougs got on the board in the top of the first inning after DeLeo grounded out, Brock Metzger walked, Seth Nielson walked, and Nico Mainolfi flew out, each scoring one run. RVC, however, turned the game in the bottom of the fourth, scoring 13 runs on nine hits to take the lead, 19-8. Russell Butitta stepped on the hill first for Kish as he allowed four hits and five runs over one and one-third innings, striking out one and walking four. Jonathan Hartline, Sean Wasserman, Deleo, and Johnny Stasiak each collected one hit for the Kougars while Hartline also stole three bases.
Kishwaukee will host Black Hawk College in a single nine inning game Tuesday at 3:00 pm then host Kennedy-King College on Wednesday for a doubleheader starting at 1:00 pm.
