Kougars Women's Volleyball battles but loses to Carl Sandburg College in conference matchup

The Lady Kougars (0-2 in Arrowhead Conference play) came out extremely well against another Arrowhead Conference foe, Carl Sandburg College, this past Wednesday night at Kishwaukee Gym.  The first game went back and forth through a 15-15 deadlock.  The Lady Chargers had some close kills at the end of the first game and eventually pulled away to take the game and then, ultimately, the match from the ladies from Kish.  Alexandria Turner (Indian Creek HS) led the way for the Kougars setting with 7 assists.  Hailey White (Oregon HS) had a good overall performance on the night with a team leading 8 digs and also had 2 kills of her own.  Taniya Ritenour (Milledgeville HS) and Madison Hunt (Sycamore HS) had very good athletic play at the net to frustrate CSC throughout the match and Alissa Lacko (Genoa Kingston HS) and Skylar Doherty (Genoa) made a number of tough plays from the back row.  Alexandra VanVickle (Rochelle HS) led the way for the Lady Kougars in service aces and played well at front row and back.  The Lady Kougars next home game will be Tuesday, September 12 at 6:00 pm against another Arrowhead opponent-Highland CC.
