Malcolm Reed signs with Columbia College

Congratulations to 6' 5" sophomore forward Malcolm Reed from Marquette Catholic HS who has signed to play for Columbia College in Missouri.  Columbia College competes in the American Midwest Conference(AMC) which is a highly competitive NAIA Division I conference and perennial national championship contender.  The Columbia Cougars won 27 games last season on their way to an NAIA National Tournament "Sweet 16".  Columbia has earned a trip to the NAIA National Tournament in 20 of the last 23 seasons including 7 straight trips.  During Malcolm's Kishwaukee career he has played in 61 games while making 59 starts.  Malcolm was the only Kougar player to start all 31 games this past season.  Malcolm averaged 17.1ppg, 7rpg, and 1.7apg this last season for the Kougars.  Malcolm has career highs of 29 points against Moraine Valley College, 18 rebounds against Olive Harvey College, 5 assists against Harper College, and 3 steals against Highland College.  Malcolm was named Region IV "Player of the Week" once this season.  Malcolm scored in double figures in 28 of the Kougar's 31 games this year and collected (6) double-doubles in points and rebounds for the year.  Malcolm was awarded 1st Team All-Region & 2nd Team All-Arrowhead Conference for the second year in a row.  Malcolm has career totals of 940 points scored, 476 rebounds, and 86 assists in his Kishwaukee career.  Malcolm's 476 rebounds currently places him in 12th place on Kishwaukee's career rebounding list.  Malcolm was also a captain on the Kougars 2016-17 team.  Malcolm is the 2nd Kishwaukee men's basketball player to sign with a 4-year school this spring.  Coach Buss has now helped move (56) total players onto 4-year schools to continue their basketball careers in the last 14-years coaching at Kishwaukee.
